Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are natural explorers. They love to explore all environments that they have access to. This group of students have been impacted by Covid 19. Essential parts of their first learning experiences have taken place in the comfort of their homes. Some of my students struggle with their feelings.
My classroom team and I use various social emotional strategies to help our students prepare for kindergarten.
One strategy we use is in our classroom is the calming area. Students have access to this area to develop or enhance their coping skills as we model and encourage them to use various activities in the calming area. I am planning to enhance our calming area with the materials by introducing them to my students as we continue to the lay the foundation for their formal education.
