Calming Area

Help me give my students a calming corner to self-regulate and rejoin the group.

My Project

We are a special needs inclusion school so we have students with disabilities. Sometimes being in a large classroom with a lot of students can cause too much stimulation for an individual. Therefore, having a calming area for students to self-regulate and calm themselves down will benefit them so that their behavior does not escalate. In addition, this can be for all students to use especially with the little ones that do not know how to really control their emotions yet. This area will be a quiet area with soft furnishings and soothing materials for the students to de-escalate when they feel upset. Students will learn self-regulating strategies to help them calm down at this calming area.
