Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In this calming space, my students will be able to identify how they are feeling, practice mindfulness, along with practice self-regulating activities (from the zen decors to brain teasing games) in order to discover what helps them feel calm and ready to learn.
The hanging chair, calming sound machine, light projector, flexible seating chairs, artificial aquarium, timer and a variety of brain teaser puzzles will help create the relaxing setting that students need when experiencing stress at school.
The chairs will serve as an area where students can decompress and the white noise sounds along with the projector will set a relaxing calming mood when students walk into my class.
