Help me give my students a wonderful Calming Area where they can rejuvenate themselves and their minds with the help of rug, flexible seating, and more.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students are often stressed at school and need a place where they can decompress, calm down and reenter the classroom without judgment. Having a Calming Area is the perfect way to give students the space and time they need so that they can come back to the group refreshed and ready to work.
Working in South Central Los Angeles, students often come to school with experiences that are difficult for them to process.
Having a calming area helps students to engage in self-care and become more aware of their own feelings.
