This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My young students are funny, vivacious and energetic. They enjoy coming to school and learning from their teachers as well as each other.

With so much to learn and do at school, there are times when my students face frustrations and problems that may become overwhelming in the moment.

For this reason, I would like to create a calming area for my students to process their emotions and de-escalate from tense situations. In this safe space, I'd like to offer them outlets that touch upon all their senses from auditory (listening to music) to visual (lava lamp) to tactile (toys and pillows).
