This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have been learning about healthy ways to process their big emotions, but they need a physical space in our classroom where they can practice comfortably.
This project would give me the ability to create a dedicated calm area in my classroom where my students can feel safe to regain their emotional or physical control after an outburst.
I have seen how powerful and effective these are for students, and I believe that my students deserve their own dedicated space where they can reap the benefits of the social-emotional learning skills that they have been working on throughout the year.
