This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to create a space in my counseling room where students can feel all their feelings and cope through feelings. In three years of supporting students, I have learned that every student copes differently. Some like to talk about whatever is going on, and others simply need a safe and comfortable space to cope by drawing/coloring, reading, journaling, or listening to music. Having this safe, inspiring, and welcoming space with beanbags, new books and art supplies will help my students cope with their feelings to be able to be better focused in class and learn. more.
