This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At MHS we are incorporating our new Positive Behavioral Incentive Support and Restorative Practices policy. We are excited to include a calm area to help de-escalate students in a safe space. Having a space designed to defuse tension and be able to participate in conflict resolution safety is our top priority.
Having a calm area would allow our students a safe space to de-escalate.
Providing these highly needed supplies would benefit our students greatly, as our school budget is limited. Having a space other than the dean's office or being sent to the counseling office will show students that they are important and they have a voice.
