This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The classroom calming area will be designed to provide a safe and secure space for students to relax, de-stress, and to take a break from their academic work. The students are under tremendous pressure to succeed in the classroom and on standardized tests. This often leads to feelings of stress and anxiety that can affect their academic performance, health, and well-being. It can help children to self-regulate by providing a space for them to take time away from the classroom, take deep breaths, practice relaxation techniques, and refocus their thoughts on positive things.

A calming area also allows students to practice self-care strategies, such as mindfulness and yoga, which can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

It is an important tool for helping students to manage their emotions and behaviors and can help to foster a more positive and productive learning environment.
