This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to create a Wellness and Calming area for our students here at JCFHS. This area will not only be meant to bring awareness around mental health interventions to our students and staff, but will also promote and teach mindfulness skills, developmental skills, relaxation skills and coping interventions which will provide our school community with necessary tools needed to self-regulate, relax, and reset when impacted by multiple overwhelming stressors or when in a crisis.

I am seeking out the support from donors in our community, colleagues, and from those looking to support school-based mental health services.

For this project, I am looking to fund a Wellness and Calming Area with furniture, mental health posters, fidget items, diffuser to help establish a space that looks and feels comfortable and calming.

Please assist me to provide our students with the skills and resource they need to develop and thrive, and to realize they matter and can make a difference.

I truly appreciate any contribution you can make to help me teach social-emotional skills. Feel free to share this list with anyone in support a local school in our community.
