Help me give my students a calming corner so that students have a safe, soothing place to go when they are feeling overwhelmed or upset!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in South Los Angeles. My 23 students are in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. My general education classroom also includes some students mainstreaming from special education. All of my students are capable, caring, curious, creative, and hard working. Kids of today have a lot to deal with. A calming corner would help them learn self-management. In the calming corner students will have a space to deal with their emotions. Including a calming corner in the classroom helps students process an experience or de-escalate when they are having a difficult time.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
