This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My TK students are learning new things everyday. Often times, they may experience strong or challenging emotions. Lerning how to self-regulate is an important piece of social emotional learning, especially in an early chilhood setting. This space will provide a safe area for children to spend time to calm themselves through sensory toys or view books about feelings. They are learning about community, how to empathize with their peers, reading nonverbal cues, and understand physical changes to their faces and bodies when they are experiencing strong emotions. Students can breathe, journal, engage in mindful activities before joining their classmates.
