Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My preschool students are experiencing school for the first time. Daily they are learning new things which can be very overwhelming and frustrating for them.
My students need a quiet calming area where they can spend time self-regulating their feelings, before rejoining the class.
The calming area would include sensory toys and puppets to act out their feelings. They will have the opportunity to learn self care is important. The calming area will provide the students a much needed area to regain composure and allowing them to rejoin their class.
