This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Please help my students build skills and learn ways to de-escalate! A calm area is a designated space with the sole intent of being a safe space for a student to go to when they feel their emotions are running too high and they need to regain their emotional and physical control. A calming area is a useful strategy to include in the classroom that helps students process an experience or de-escalate when they are having a difficult time. Also, the liquid fusion play centers and Magna Tiles will give my students to play with and de-escalate in the calming area. This will help my students' (3-5 year olds) mental health and wellbeing. Therefore, please help me build a calming area for my students to feel safe and de-escalate.
