This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is a collaborative class. We have a diverse age group from 3-5 year olds. Some of our students are unable to communicate their thoughts and feelings using words. Our students are so kind to each other and help each other when they are struggling. For Example when a child is crying a verbal child might approach me and say "I think he is sad because he wants his mommy." Not being able to communicate all their thoughts and emotions with words can sometimes lead to an emotional meltdown. Providing visuals and calming activities will help my little learners calm down to be able to understand me and help them. As a preschool teacher I understand that I cannot reach my students if they are experiencing emotional distress.
