My Project

Early Childhood Special Education classes often provide students their first school experience. Social emotional development is critical for all preschoolers, even more so for those with special needs. Students learn about their feelings as well as those of others, and productive ways to regulate their emotions.

A Calming Area in the classroom enables students to develop strong social emotional skills as part of their school experience.

This project will provide the young students with strategies to cope with emotions they experience during their school day. It will give them the opportunity to learn about their different feelings and self regulation strategies.

Student can build on the skills learned in preschool to help them be successful in their future.
