This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The first, second and third graders that we work with require a little extra support in math instruction. We have created a calm welcoming environment in which students thrive.
In order to support students social, emotional and academic success, we strive to make calming activities and strategies available to all learners.
These materials are available for all learners to access independently as needed. We all know that if a child is experiencing strong emotions or processing different life situations, it can be difficult to be available to learn.
From drawing materials to calming seating options, this project provides students with a variety of tools to monitor themselves and select the appropriate way to calm themselves.
