This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students care about each other and get along very well with one another. Overall they are happy students that are eager to learn.
I do have a couple of students that sometimes need a quiet area to work at independently in order to focus.
Others, sometimes need a short break to relax when they are overly exited, frustrated or upset. A calming area provides a space for children to address their emotions and cool down. Having bean bags where they can sit on to cool down is important. I need posters that encourage relaxation, several soothing remedies, for example squishy objects.
A calming are would greatly benefit my 5th grade students because it encourages and teaches students how to express and deal with their feelings.
