This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are active and energetic Kindergarten students. They live in a high need community. During the pandemic many of our students and their families experienced stress due to online learning. It was hard for our families to manage work and online instruction. As we get back to in person instruction I would like to give my students a calming area where they can take a brain break.I would like to set up a tent with comfortable bean bags and a rug for my students to decompress. I plan to use bins to put calming stuffed animals, books, and other toys. It is important for students to have a safe space to decompress. Your generosity can give my students supplies that will help me meet their social emotional needs.
