Help me give my students opportunities to grasp who they are, their emotions and the emotions of others in an ever changing world with a calming corner and a lap pad.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are such wonderful little learners. After 20 years of teaching I have learned that everyone has big emotions, but my students need to be taught how to handle those emotions. We will use these materials to help us understand the complex emotions we experience daily. We will learn to recognize the emotions, they are feeling, and how to use that knowledge to help them calm down.
Teaching social emotional learning skills is a cornerstone of todays education.
We need the future generation to be able to help themselves and others in their communities.
