Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my Horticulture program learn gardening skills and general employability skills like staying on task, completing multi-step assignments, and following directions. They also practice communication skills when interacting with fellow students/colleagues and supervisors and job coaches.
Like all students with various disabilities, my students need a calming down area where they can relax, de-escalate and work on self-management skills.
We would like to place the outdoor furniture near the butterfly garden where students could use the relaxing rocking chairs and at the same time enjoy a beautiful flower garden.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
