Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an active group of 5 and 6-year-olds. They are a great group of kids who are trying to figure out how to recognize and properly express their emotions. This project will give them the resources needed to learn social skills. They can use the sensory tools to help de-escalate, the books and emotion charts to identify feelings, and the bean bag chairs and cuddle ball to feel secure and safe. These tools will teach them how to manage their feelings and emotions. All the students in the classroom will benefit from using the calming corner and incorporating mindfulness into their everyday practice. This will lay the foundation for becoming well-adjusted individuals in the future.
