Calming and Regulating Corner for my Student's Mental Health!
Help me give my students items like a storage cabinet, weighted stuffed animals, and giant stress balls for an organized space for calming and regulating themselves throughout the day.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
1st graders are small people with BIG emotions. They should be encouraged to listen to their bodies when they feel overwhelmed and anxious. Paying attention to and nurturing their well-being is a lifelong tool to stay happy and healthy.
Help me create a Chill Out Zone for my students where they can retreat throughout the day to quiet their minds and regulate their feelings.
The best learning happens when children feel centered and focused.
I'm requesting a cabinet to organize our current materials and new sensory-friendly and calming tools to keep them interested in exploring and utilizing the Chill Out Zone.
