Calming and Comfortable Reading Corner

My Project

This school year I want to create a reading corner that will encourage my students to fall in love with reading. Adding lamps and comfortable seating will create an environment where students look forward to reading time.

My goal for this project is to encourage a love for reading in my students.

I have some flexible seating implemented at the student's desks and I have noticed that it makes the students more motivated and engaged with the material. Providing the students with flexible seating in the reading corner will spark that same motivation and engagement. The beanbags and floor pillows will give my students something to look forward to when it is time for reading and get them excited to cozy up with a good book.

Adding lamps to the reading corner will create a feeling of calmness for reading time. Third graders have a lot of energy. The soothing light the lamps emit will help calm their brains and prepare them for reading. The lamps and flexible seating will create the perfect environment for engaged, motivated, and calm readers.
