My Project
I currently teach about 20 4th-grade students in our special education resource lab. Most of them have ADHD, which can make testing or even daily work a struggle a lot of the time. Having access to items like noise-canceling headphones can help my students maintain focus and become more successful!
Even when all of the students are focused on their assignments and working independently, little noises like typing, pencils tapping on desks, or erasers against paper can be distracting, which leads to a rise in behaviors.
This all works out to be a lack of instruction. Once one or two students are off-task it doesn't take long for the rest to follow. While noise-cancelling headphones may not be the answer to all of our problems, I believe they would be a huge help!
