My Project
I work in a Title One Urban school with a large populations of students living in proverty and dealing with trauma. Our students are also lacking coping skills to help them calm and regulate their emotions. During the time during and after Covid, many students are missing the needed social emotional skills they need for their success in the classroom. These students also are lacking skills in self-regulation and problem solving. The fidget calming strips will help provide the students with a tool to help them calm their minds at their fingertips.
Students who have the tools at their fingertips can help begin the calming process.
Each student would have a fidget calming strip placed on their desk that they can use to help them calm their minds, breath, and refocus on their learning without having to leave the classroom.
