In my classroom, we focus on providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where all students—especially those with special needs—can thrive.
One of the ways we do this is through fostering a love of reading and creating a calming space to support emotional regulation.
To further enhance the learning experience, I am hoping to add some essential items to our classroom: books for our class library and calming corner supplies.
A well-stocked library will help students develop literacy skills and a deeper love for reading. Many of my students do not have access to books at home, and having a variety of age-appropriate and engaging books in the classroom will encourage them to explore new worlds through reading. Additionally, a calm corner in the classroom will provide students with a quiet space to relax, refocus, and practice self-regulation when needed. This peaceful environment is especially beneficial for students with special needs, allowing them to manage their emotions and refocus for learning.
I am reaching out to you in hopes of receiving donations to help bring these resources into our classroom. Your generous support will go toward purchasing:
New books for our classroom library (including audiobooks for our students with special needs)
Comfortable furniture and soothing decorations for the calm corner, such as soft seating, sensory items, and artwork to create a welcoming space
