My Project
I am requesting new bean bags chairs and shelves for the calm down or quiet corner of my classroom. I work with students who receive special education instruction throughout their school day. Often times, this includes students with disabilities such as Autism, Intellectual Disability, Other Health Impairment or Speech and Language Impairment. Throughout our school days, students are not always interested in talking with peers, playing on an iPad or reading a book during a break time. Their breaks might include sitting in a bean bag chair with a fidget or weighted blanket, using sensory soothing items or laying on a soft carpet with a craft. Given the items in my donors choose request, I would be able to provide a calm, quiet, clean spot for their relaxation.
