My Project

At the pre-k level, my students are just beginning to learn how to handle those BIG feelings. For many of them, my classroom is their first school experience. It can be frustrating when learning to share, wait for a turn, and work together. Young children are also easily overstimulated, and this can occur easily in a classroom due to the harsh lighting, school noise, and fast-paced environment.

I want to reduce the overwhelming external stimuli in my class and create a soothing, safe space in which learners can regulate their emotions.

I have a calming corner where scholars can take a break if needed, but I want to take preventative measures to help avoid sensory overload. Please help me to purchase fluorescent light covers to reduce harsh lighting, weighted lap pads & blankets to eliminate restlessness and calm anxiety, and more.
