Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help give our students games, crafts, and sensory toys to keep in our calm room. Thanks to generous donations last year, we were able to furnish our calm room with chairs and tables. This project will help give our students calming activities to choose from such as playing with moon sand or creating an origami animal.
These supplies will allow our students to take a short break in our calming space and then head back to their instruction.
We currently have students requesting to use our calm room when they are feeling overwhelmed by all of the other things in their lives. We have found that having this space for students is helpful because the students always know that it is available to them.
