This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When students returned to the classroom post Covid-19 Pandemic both they and teachers were faced with a new set of obstacles. Not only did the educational aspect of school take a hit by creating a bigger gap in learning, but so did their social/emotional skills. Students showed a lack of focus and inability to stay seated or in one place for an extended period of time. Covid-19 really took a toll on them both mentally and physically.

By requesting items such as a speaker, games, and candy I will be able to provide students with the little things to help calm their minds and keep their hands busy.

Schools are increasingly cracking down on cell phone use. Students at my school cannot be on their phones during classtime nor use earbuds. The speaker will allow me to bluetooth soft music during classtime or student events to help them focus and calm their minds. Items such as the games and legos will help students keep their minds and hands busy after their work is completed. And the candy.... what student doesn't love candy? Students are constantly hungry and sometimes need s little pick-me-up in the form of a piece of chocolate or skittles.
