This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are such hard workers and they strive to meet my high expectations! However, many of my students come from backgrounds with trauma and need support with handling big emotions. Every classroom in our school has a Peace Corner that kids can use to calm down when they are anxious, sad, angry, or experiencing other difficult feelings.

The sensory tools I am requesting in this project, stickers, fidget toys, and bubbler liquid timers, will help my students refocus and reset in the Peace Corner!

I will introduce each tool to the whole class and help them brainstorm and reflect on which tools will be best to help them self regulate.
