Calm Down

Help me give my students sensory windows, wooden wands, fidget poppers, and calm down cubes to support their social and emotional learning.

My Project

The material will be used my classroom cozy corner. In pre-k students go to that area when they are experiencing big emotions. In addition to encouraging them to self-regulate I provide students with different activities, strategies and materials to help them calm down.

The Hoberman Sphere for example is used to guide students in deep breathing by opening and closing the ball.

The calm down cubes are an age appropriate activity to help students try different ways to calm down.

Currently so many students are struggling social and emotionally that having these supports in the classroom will help them greatly.
