Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love how curious, resilient, and full of potential my students are. They come to school each day eager to learn, even when faced with challenges inside and outside the classroom. Their excitement when they grasp a new concept or help a classmate is what drives me as a teacher.
In order to help minimize the time it takes to bring students back to their baseline, I am building a calm down corner in the classroom.
This corner will assist in de-escalating the students and will allow my students to have a safe space. Within the calm down corner, they will be able to regulate their emotions without having to be seen and judged by the rest of the student body.
