Calm Down Corner, Supplies and Organizing to Maximize Our Learning!

Help me give my students items and posters for a calm corner, book boxes to organize their things, headphones, jars for a class project, dry erase markers, laminating sheets to keep our materials strong, new dry erase whiteboards, and Play-Doh.

My Project

COVID-19 has definitely impacted our students academically, but most of all I think it has impacted them emotionally and also impacted their social skills. The resources I've requested will help especially with students that need a few moments to calm down.

When students need a moment to process their feelings, they will be able to use the stuffed animal, the calm down posters, the fidgets, Play-Doh, or calm down corner items.

The headphones will help with students who don't have a pair to do their assignments on their Chromebooks. The laminating sheets will help protect the anchor charts, center games pieces, and scoot activities we do in the classroom in math and reading.

The book boxes will be used for helping the students organize their materials and textbooks near their desks, as well as hold books! The dry erase markers will help provide materials for the students to use (they run out quickly since we do a lot of dry erase whiteboard work to monitor the students' understanding).

The new dry erase whiteboards and erasers will be helpful in our station activities and extras for students who have whiteboards that are marked up.

The plastic jars will be used for the students to give gifts to their families, which will be conversation starters to use at family dinners or family time. All of these items will help give the students support so they can learn!
