This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the SEL Specialist at OES, I would love to equip each classroom with a calm down box so that students have tools they can utilize for self-regulation. This would allow students to remain in their classrooms to receive learning, while also having access to manipulatives that can help them focus, regulate, and calm down.
Without funding, teachers are having to supply these boxes on their own.
With your help, teachers can focus on their quality lessons, while still allowing students to have access to these incredible and necessary sensory tools.
