This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My young Pre-K Friends are so curious, energetic, kind, and ready to explore. Our classroom is full of fun active play and learning throughout the day. Sometimes our young learners need a little time for themselves to calm down. Our calming corner is a place where our students can relax and reflect on how they feel.
Social emotional awareness and self regulation practice is so important for our youngest learners.
Identifying and labeling feelings is a big part of our school day. Teaching our students to identify their emotions is an important life skill which takes so much practice.
The social emotional books and learning materials in our project will help to set up our youngest learners for success in life.The emotions mirrors, calming tube, and sand timers will be used as a learning tool when students visit the calm and cozy center. This is an important and special place in our classroom where students can visit when they feel strong emotions. This area provides a safe place where they can relax and calm down.
The items in this project will give students tools that will help them learn how to manage their big emotions and practice self regulation. Thank you in advance for your support in helping me set up my students for success.
