My Project
I teach an incredible group of first graders who are curious, energetic, and eager to learn. As young learners in a Title I school, many of my students face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Despite these obstacles, they come to school each day ready to grow, explore, and support one another. Their enthusiasm for learning is inspiring, and I want to provide them with the tools they need to thrive.
This project will supply my classroom with sensory items, flexible seating, and calming gadgets—resources that will make a significant impact on their ability to focus, regulate emotions, and stay engaged in learning.
Sensory tools will help students who need extra support with attention and self-regulation, allowing them to feel comfortable and ready to learn. Flexible seating will give them choices in how they learn best, whether they need to wiggle, rock, or find a cozy space to focus. Calming gadgets will provide an outlet for students who need a moment to reset and regain their composure, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities.
My goal is to create a welcoming, student-centered environment where all children feel supported academically, socially, and emotionally. By providing these resources, I hope to foster independence, confidence, and a love for learning that will stay with my students beyond first grade. Each of my students is unique and special, and with the right tools, I know they can achieve amazing things!
