Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a population that is very economically disadvantaged. During COVID, even having internet to do remote learning was a struggle for my students. Some of the most critical years of learning how to be a good human was all done from the computer. That is why I am requesting resources that will support building my school community. Things like the plushies, fidgets, and desk chair will help promote my calm corner as a safe space and allow students to communicate feeling in a healthy way. Things like LEGOs and my STEM projects will help support how to communicate with others and work together to solve problems. I want access to books that will promote empathy, belonging and gratitude. These are all areas that my current district is working on as a major improvement priority.

All of these things are essential skills that need to be practiced and supported through reinforcement.
