This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every week I have the privilege of sharing my day with a group of wonderful third graders who are always eager to learn and grow.
Although they come from the highest percentage Title-1 school in one of the largest districts in the state, nothing gets in their way!
While some students may have difficult home lives, be struggling academically or be learning English as a second language, they come to school each day with a positive attitude and incredible work ethic.
My Project
Sometimes we all just need break. This bean bag will be placed in a calm corner in the classroom that will allow for students to take time to gather themselves to do their best. Students are faced with a lot of stress between doing well academically, building relationships with their peers and dealing with what is happening outside of the classroom. Our calm corner will give students the opportunity to take a moment to gather their feelings in a safe and comfortable way. As their teacher, I want to make sure they are in a place where they can be successful in the classroom.
