Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our classroom, students come from all walks of life—many carrying emotional baggage that they aren’t yet equipped to manage. Some experience stress, anxiety, or anger that interferes with learning and relationships. I’m requesting resources to create a calming, restorative space where students can reset, self-regulate, and practice emotional intelligence through hands-on tools.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is not just a buzzword; it’s a critical part of helping students thrive academically and emotionally.
When students feel safe, supported, and emotionally balanced, they’re far more likely to engage in learning, build healthy relationships, and succeed long-term.
My Students Need:
The materials in this project support emotional awareness, coping strategies, and regulation skills for students of all ages and abilities. From tactile toys to sensory seating, every item is chosen with intention to promote mindfulness, reduce anxiety, and reinforce social-emotional growth.
The Calm Balls and Solobo SEL bundle provide students with hands-on stress relief tools to physically work through difficult emotions like anxiety or anger.
The Time Timer MOD empowers students to manage transitions and understand the passage of time in a non-triggering, visual way—helping reduce outbursts and improve classroom flow.
Books like "I Feel... Something" help students name and understand what they feel in their bodies—an essential foundation for emotional literacy.
The Flex-Space Floor Bundle, bean bag chairs, and comfy classroom rug will transform a corner of our classroom into a welcoming SEL retreat—a space to decompress, self-soothe, and regain focus.
Engaging puzzles like the Coogam Wooden Brain Teasers promote mindfulness and problem-solving, giving students a productive outlet when they need a break.
