This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hi! My name is Keannah Lazala, I am a first year general education teacher in an ENL (English as a New Language) and ICT (Intergrated Co-Teaching) Kindergarten Classroom.
My co-teacher and I are parallel teaching each subject in our class.
It's a teaching strategy where two or more teachers work together to teach the same content to a group of students. This approach allows for more individualized attention and support, as well as different perspectives on the material. Being organized is our priority because in a parallel teaching environment; it is crucial to have smooth transitions, and clear/ structured routines. With multiple teachers in the classroom, students can receive more personalized attention and instruction. This can help keep them engaged and focused on the lesson. Also, it allows for smaller teacher-to-student ratios, which means more individualized support and guidance.
With the materials like the rolling carts we will be allowed to have all of our student’s materials prepped and allowing them easy access instead of cutting into instruction time by asking students to retrieve their materials. Letter tray organizers can help students have organized small group center activities, and tray organizer bins can help students keep their work neatly organized. Additionally, these materials will overall build independence and create long term organization skills that students will use in their academic and professional careers.
