This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A calm down corner is a space for kids to do exactly what it is says- to calm down. A space where they can pause and reset, pick an activity that fits their needs, and recenter themselves to come back to their learning space.
This area is highly beneficial to students on learning independence - They will identify their feelings, how to self-regulate using tools and control their impulses in a stress free zone.
I know I am my best self when I have taken the proper care and time to reset. As a child, they deal will big emotions everyday. I'd love to provide them with an area that has the right tools for them to use. In this project students will be provided fidgets, timers, breathing exercise tools, and oil diffusers that will create a relaxing environment.
