Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Middle school can be overwhelming, and my goal is to create a calm, structured environment where students can focus, self-regulate, and succeed. To achieve this, I am requesting class headphones, binders, a lava lamp, a calming fish tank, and portable batteries—materials that will help create a peaceful and organized space for learning.
Headphones will allow students to engage in guided meditation in our calming area.
They will keep their mindfulness reflections in binders. A lava lamp and fish tank will create a visually soothing atmosphere, providing a quiet space for students who need moments of mindfulness. Portable batteries will ensure that students can keep their devices charged, removing a common source of anxiety in our digital learning environment.
My students are thoughtful, curious learners who thrive when given structure and a sense of belonging. Many juggle responsibilities at home, and having a calm classroom provides them with the stability they need. This project will not only enhance their academic success but also support their emotional well-being. By fostering a peaceful environment, I hope to empower students to take ownership of their learning and feel safe, focused, and ready to succeed.
