Our school has been working hard to create peaceful spaces for our students when they are feeling the big feelings that sometimes can happen at school. We have begun developing calm down corners in our classrooms as spaces for children to go and identify those big feelings and work their way into a calmer head space.
I am in need of some materials to make a proper calm down space in my own classroom.
I am looking for comfortable seating, fidgets, books that identify social emotional goals for my students, and a way to organize our space properly. My students are already working so hard on their academic goals in my classroom. It is only right that I provide them with the most calm and safe space I possibly can.
