My Project
Hello Everyone,
I am a first year upcoming second year Kindergarten teacher.
In my first year, I was blessed with a beautiful rainbow rug through DonorsChoose, and it was so beautiful and had a positive impact on building social emotional learning and academic learning in my classroom. Unfortunately over the school year the rug began to fade and stain badly.
With this new rug we will be able to have circle time to discuss how students are feeling, facilitate mini lessons, morning meeting and so much more. This will help students on a social emotional level by helping students to be able to understand that their friend's feelings are impact and understand why their friend feels the way they do. This will help students to learn what compassion is and the importance of it, they will learn to have sympathy and empathy toward others. It is very important for students to learn these life skills in their early development years because it sets the foundation to their life skills, and interactions with others. I'm hoping that I can be able to help my students achieve this understanding.
