I teach in an inner city school that serves students in grades Pre-K through 8th. Our school recently added the middle school grades into our building, so we do could use more resources for the older students.

There is high need in our district, and low interest in reading. It seems that once the students cross into the middle school wing, they lose interest in reading for fun. That is, until one day when I mentioned Twilight....

These students love the Twilight series! I want to have book clubs for the first three books, but books are expensive and sometimes out of reach for my students. These students really want to read- which means they are more likely to stay up with the reading assignments and cross their effort into language arts class!
