The items that I requested will help the students with movement, hunger ,and fitness. I work in the Austin Area in the heart of Chicago's Westside. The students in my class come from less fortunate families. A lot of my students are being raised by their grandparents and older siblings. The things that we take for grated is a welcoming desire to them. Being able to eat at will, as well as what we actually want is a blessing. Some of the students come to school hungry, and haven't eating since they left school the day before. Some of the students come to school dirty, tired, and in the same clothes as the day before. Being able to see the smiles on their faces with the scooters would be priceless. Being able to provide them with something to eat as a snack would be filling. The cleaning supplies helps to keep our classroom environment clean and sanitized. The teaching supplies help, because teachers, working at CPS, there is no money in the budget for supplies as of now. I am hopeful that you consider funding our project, and let's continue to make their early learning experience a great one.
