A happy learning environment is what I strive for in my classroom. My ultimate goal is to have a student-centered classroom where boys and girls can collaborate and focus on learning as much as they can.
There is nothing better than watching my students get excited about learning!
I teach 2nd grade in a school where the spirit of learning soars and character grows! I work in a school with a highly diverse population of over 500 students. It is my goal as a second-grade teacher to keep students safe, love them, and teach them as much as I can. I truly want to foster each child's love for learning and help every student feel successful.
My Project
Distance and blended learning formats are here. They will be different and challenging for my students emotionally and academically. I want to keep my students engaged in their love of reading!
I have noticed in the last few years my second graders always reaching for graphic novels.
To the students, they look fun and easy to read. They may not be as easy as they look. Most graphic novels have a higher reading level. I am hoping, with your help, to provide lower-level graphic novels to my second-grade students.
I have several goals and outcomes for my students using these books. I plan to use these graphic novels to help my struggling readers strengthen their vocabulary, build reading confidence, and help with storytelling comprehension. These books will be perfect resources to help my struggling readers build and have reading success!
