My Students
We travel back in time, learning about ancient civilizations and their cultural contributions. Rarely do we get to experience what it was like. Let us write as the Romans did! (Well, the Medieval Europeans)
My students surprise me with their unique questions and excitement about exploring the world around them.
They come willing to learn every day, but do not come equipped with all of the tools. With over 75 percent of my students on free and reduced lunch, and their parents often working two or more jobs, my kids come in having little experience with Ancient Civilizations.
My Project
I would like my students to be able to learn Calligraphy. After learning about different styles of ancient writing, they will then use the set of Calligraphy pens to learn how to write, applying their knowledge of the challenges and artfulness of ancient forms of writing.
My students have little exposure to a variety of artistic expression.
Calligraphy will be a fun and exciting way for them to actually experience what they are learning about ancient cultures!
